Scamming employees
„Employee of the Month” awards are usually scam and people know that very well. Don’t think that by giving out this kind of award you can stop there. Implement other employee motivational methods, such as profit sharing, stock options, gift cards, bonuses, free fruit and coffee, etc. Improve work conditions, create a wonderful social space and employee lounge. Put a fresh coat of paint on the wall everywhere. Expect just as much from your management as you do your hourly employees. Involve your employees in the business. Get them involved in decisions, put their recommendations into effect. Do listen to them.
