You are supposed to be his boss and be responsible for what he does even though you may not chosen him. The Big Boss is protecting him so he may not faithfully (or at all) execute your orders. Don’t be either laid-back or tough with him. In the former case you would be punished for his wrongdoings. In the latter, he would complain about you and your people management competencies would seriously be questioned. Neutralize the sugar boy by being unpredictable, and neglect that he will think you are nuts. Manage the Big Boss' overall impression not to win in any or every specific round.
