Anticipate that your staff could go over your head and take any matter directly to your boss. You need to be able to predict when someone is about to skirts you and goes to the top. Maintain a close, hands‑on relationship with each staffer, so you will be more likely to know when you are being fed lies or double talk. Build personal rapport to make harder for people to conceal their emotions if they are about to take action against you. Look for irregular behavior and sudden style changes. Never retaliate directly but make sure this break of protocol reflect on the person/s who report to you.
