Boosting loyalty
Forget motivation posters, team building, inspiration pins, employee-of-the-week picture board, celebrations, sharing "big picture" and alike. You cannot boost loyalty (motivation) for it comes from within the individuals. Be completely honest about your employee's job security. Provide them time enough to look around the job market, in case of dismissals. Keep their compensation above median, if not top tier. Give them considerable financial rewards when achieved something extraordinary, instead of tap shoulders. Realize that employees do understand that "competitive compensation" is euphemism for below-market packages. Refrain from BS-ing.
