Disobeying intelligently
There is always pressure to obey. Understand the true risk of saying ’yes’ when you should say ’no’. Resist to rationalize what you are being asked to do in order to ease your discomfort. Slow down your action, give time to recover from the shock of the inappropriate order. Examine what values, rules and regulations are being violated. Ask to-the-point questions about the order you are receiving. Offer reasonable alternatives to the boss giving the order. Do not perform acts that benefit yourself rather than the business. Remember that fundamental transformation is rarely made by the well behaved.
