Assess his deeds objectively and stay focused on doing your job well. Adopt a calm, determined approach to getting your work done well. Keep record of any instances of abuse and mistreatment. Capture the series of events for a one-off incident is rarely considered to constitute bullying (unless physical). Put in writing a request for the bully to expand upon the allegation (phrase as unemotionally as possible. If the bully does not reply your initial request, repeat it but avoid being inflammatory or provocative. Look at the worst harm the bully can inflict: will he fire you? (in all likelihood, he will not) Remain emotionally detached from the threats and yelling to outlast a bully. Seek support (HR, grievance procedure, lawyer) but have it in mind that the bully could have a wide network of supporters or be a successful and respected employee of the company.
