Being discriminated
Be a tough cookie. Whereas it is emotionally draining to be target for discrimination, do not make the life of the abuser easy. Have a gradual approach. First, discuss the matter on-on-one with him. In case the behavior repeats, check if others suffer the same. Collect the experience of others in a way not gossiping and not bashing the discriminating coworker (boss). If you find out others are being discriminated against as well, you can handle the situation as a group. When you handle the situation yourself, keep notes on misbehaviors with date and times of occurrences. Use the official channels to report violation of code of conduct. Consult with an employment lawyer getting to know your rights and chances in a would-be-lawsuit against your employer. Be open to reconcile the matter with mutual agreement. If all else fails, consider moving on.
