Not being listened to
Check the conversations you have with colleagues. Take note of how often you are asking searching questions as opposed to telling them what to do. Tell less and ask more. Connect to colleagues and realize how differently they see and experience the world. Don’t get addicted to being right for that creates additional barriers to others’ listening. Give people the opportunity to co-create with you and also be right. Don’t assume others are understanding what you are meaning. Work towards a shared acceptance of what you do say. Instruct only whether and when the situation requires to do so.
