Being left out
Ask yourself: do I really need to participate? is the topic of the meeting related to work your team does? If you decide that it makes sense for you to be at the meeting, it’s time to raise the issue with the organizer. Indicate her what perspective, expertise, or information your team can offer the discussion. Focus on the process rather than the persons. The conversation shouldn’t be about you or how you feel, or about how it’s wrong that Joe is there but you’re not. Direct the conversation toward addressing why it is beneficial for others that you be present.
