Surviving blame firestorm
Remember Friedrich Nietzsche’s famous saying: “there are no facts, only interpretations.” Focus on the interpretation or framing of what might otherwise be embarrassing facts. Use one of the following tactics or some of them combined. Be unavailable for comments, keep your head down until it blows over. Second, fight your corner, offer persuasive excuses and justifications. Third, disarm (charm) your critiques before they turn nasty. Lastly, find good times to bury bad news, divert the attention of your adversaries, shift the agenda.
