Position opening up
Use your internal network getting to know about opportunities first. Acknowledge that promoting decisions made earlier that the information on the opportunity goes public. Lull your competitors by suggesting you are not interested. Work hard in the background convincing decision makers and influential figures. Understand that success in your current job is not enough to be promoted (on the contrary). Use your bargaining chips whether positive or negative. Don’t get discouraged if not selected for usually it has nothing to do with your personal/professional qualities.
