Reprimanding a colleague
Start by establishing that you have something important on your mind that you have to say. Do say: “It is unreasonable to expect me to conceal this.” “It is of your doing.” “The responsibility of this should not be in my lap. ”Don’t say: “you’re a liar.” “you’re a cheat.” “how stupid could you be?” Do give the person a chance to come clean (or come up with a story) his or her own way. Mind it’s not about the person, it’s about the situation. It doesn’t matter why it happened or what personal quality it may reflect. It’s about how you feel being put in that position.
